Hayley Baker

Meet Hayley Baker, an attorney at Fontenot Law known for her sharp analytical mind, thorough preparation, and exceptional written advocacy. Admitted to the Utah State Bar in 2022, Hayley focuses her practice on family law and criminal law, representing clients through some of the most stressful and consequential moments of their lives. Whether she’s guiding a parent through divorce, custody, or support issues, or protecting a client’s rights in a criminal matter, Hayley’s focus is on understanding every detail of the case and building a strategy that serves her clients’ long-term interests.

Before joining Fontenot Law, Hayley managed family law cases, guiding clients through every stage of the family court process, from mediation to hearings and trial. Earlier in her career, she handled a wide range of matters, including construction law, business and real estate transactions, estate planning, defense litigation, and outside general counsel work for business clients. She also led contract negotiations for the University of Utah, managing agreements with pharmaceutical companies, university departments, and the Huntsman Cancer Institute. That breadth gave her a strong foundation in litigation, negotiation, legal research, and brief writing, along with the ability to master new and complex issues quickly.

Hayley earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2020. While there, she was named a Quinney Research Fellow and received the CALI Award for earning the highest grade in Global Perspectives on Counterterrorism, a course she later taught as a teaching assistant. She also holds a B.S. in Biology from California State University, Bakersfield, a background that sharpened the analytical, evidence-driven thinking she brings to every case.
