Governmental Affairs

I receive regular calls from concerned citizens and groups that their city, county, state, or interlocal governmental agency is behaving badly. I have worked on cases involving improper actions by governmental agencies, and have been involved in efforts at the capitol to advocate for government programs that benefit citizens.

Recently, I have been involved in a lawsuit to enforce Utah’s Open and Public Meetings Act and Utah’s Governmental Records Access Management Act (GRAMA). This suit alleges that and Interlocal Organization referred to as Mountain Accord, has taken action without having Open and Public Meetings, and has denied records requests. An article about this case can be found here. (link http://www.sltrib.com/news/5280552-155/judge-must-rule-on-whether-mountain).

I have strongly advocated for these groups to operate openly and hold them accountable when they do not. If you have an issue regarding governmental affairs that you believe you need help with, give me a call and I will see if I can help.
